POSITION PURPOSE:
Oversee Wake County Public School Systems’ (WCPSS) access control system and employee badging program across the district including but not limited to access levels and privileges, employee on-boarding and transfers, contractor and vendor access, and access for key stakeholders and law enforcement agencies. Works closely with our security operations team to fulfill access request and other requests for assistance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
Considerable knowledge of enterprise-wide access control systems and platforms;
Considerable knowledge of fulfilling service request in large organizations;
Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; Google Apps;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple task or projects;
Ability to work independently while maintaining close communications with management and other key stakeholders;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, external agencies, attorneys, parents, and the public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent;
Two years of experience managing enterprise-wide access control systems.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree from an accredited college or university;
Experience working in a public school or academic setting (K-12)
Experience/knowledge in access control hardware and installations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and oversee all employee and contractor badging functions across the district.
Work closely with other departments to fulfill request and projects (i.e. facilities, HR, academics, central services).
Maintain a detailed inventory of all badging supplies.
Create and maintain metrics and data reports related to all main tasks assigned to this position.
Assist in the on-boarding process of new employees.
Oversee incoming and outgoing mail related to access control and badging operations.
Serve as a subject matter expert for the Office of Security on projects that involve access control.
Develop and maintain an organized system of access levels and privileges.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to use a variety of office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. Must be able to communicate effectively. At times requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to ten pounds. Due to the amount of time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for sedentary work.
