SUMMARY

Armed Security Officers provide protection for individuals and property from injury and/or criminal Acts; to prevent unauthorized entry and respond to emergency situations.

To be successful as an Armed Security Officer, you should be able to exercise discretion regarding the use of force. Ultimately, an outstanding Armed Security Officer will seek to expand their self-defense and weapons training beyond the mandatory level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Protect stipulated people and locations from harassment, physical attack, vandalism, and other forms of abusive or unauthorized treatment

Ensure that your weapon is well maintained and secure at all times
Utilize your weapon in times of extreme attack, when non-violent options have been exhausted
Attend refresher training in weapons use, if applicable
Monitor electronic security system to include alarm, CCTV, and access control system
Complete and submit incident reports after noteworthy developments
Responds to medical emergencies
Act as an ambassador to our visitors
Patrol parking and/or assigned area to ensure safety and security for all that visits the Store Support Center
Provide customer service and performs general duties
Carry out all assigned duties with integrity and honesty

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), may include specialized or vocational courses.
One to two years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or similar role
TN State Armed Guard License preferred; ability to meet all requirements and obtain a TN State Armed Guard License
Knowledge of the criminal justice process
Ability to work under little supervision
Previous experience in customer service preferred
Knowledge of electronic security systems
Understanding of the corporate environment
Knowledge of Microsoft MS Office Suite
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to write accurate and legible reports suitable for submission to law enforcement and for court presentation
Ability to stay alert and vigilant during the entire duty shift
Ability to work morning, evening, and night shifts
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet AutoZone’s driving requirements
