Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts to effectively analyze accounts receivable data.
Duties
Process and record incoming payments accurately and promptly.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and follow up accordingly.
Communicate with clients regarding payment discrepancies or outstanding invoices, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
Utilize accounting software such as PeopleSoft and Quicken to manage financial transactions and maintain records.
Prepare and send out invoices, statements, and collection letters as needed.
Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Analyze financial data related to accounts receivable to provide insights for management decisions.
Maintain organized documentation of all transactions and communications related to accounts receivable.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role in accounting.
Familiarity with accounting software and technical accounting principles is essential.
Strong understanding of financial concepts related to accounts receivable management.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on professional phone etiquette.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in accounting is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour
