Description
We are looking for professional security patrol officers to protect the premises and assets of our customers. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent illegal or inappropriate actions. The duties are to detect, deter, observe, and report irregular activity. The ideal candidate should: have the ability to assess situations and make informed decisions on the next steps independently, without requiring direct supervision or detailed instructions from leadership; display a positive and respectful demeanor; use discernment in when interacting with clients and the public; and prioritize punctuality.
Job Duties
Deter theft by acting as a visible presence of security.
Observe premises for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Contact the emergency response (i.e. Police, EMT, Fire) in case of fire, criminal activity, or the presence of unauthorized persons.
Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
Provide assistance to the employees and residents in a courteous and professional manner.
Required Skills
Ability to use a cell phone and have a basic understanding of the internet
Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
Possess active listening skills
Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively: using discernment before taking action
Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
Attention to detail
Retain information related to our vendor’s business in a confidential manner
Must have the ability to work independently and make fact-based decisions
Must remain calm and professional during urgent situations
Educational Requirements
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Must have or be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing within 60 days of hire.
Experience Requirements
(Candidates must meet at least one of the following experience categories)
1- 3 years experience as a security guard
1-2 years experience as a police officer
4 years service in either active duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
Additional Requirements
Must have own operable vehicle
Must be at least 18 of age
Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
Must not use illegal drugs
Must submit to a background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verification, Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks, and fingerprinting
Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD-214 discharge document with discharge status indicated if prior military
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
Must be able to endure exposure to weather, noise, and other workplace environments
