SECURITY – PART TIME 24 HOURS
Position Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for safety and security for all independent, enhanced living, and skilled living facilities, including interior and exterior building systems and building equipment.
Job Specific Duties

Provides the safest environment possible for Residents, guests, and Team Members
Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for Residents and their property as well as company property
Responds to radio calls, smoke and fire alarms and health emergencies (PERS, Personal Emergency Response System Calls)
Complies with all safety and environmental procedures, including hazardous control, evacuation programs, and other building awareness programs
Reports equipment or building system malfunctions along with hazardous situations encountered while on patrol
Completes minor maintenance work as needed
Issues parking violations to all illegally parked vehicles
Investigates reports of damages to property and reports to supervisors
Responds to Resident inquiries and requests within the scope of authority and refers all unresolved matters to supervisors
Prepares related reports and contacts local authorities as requested. Completes computer log and writes reports
Conducts daily checks of apartment Courtesy Check In and investigates as necessary to ensure Resident safety
Monitors all deliveries to the facility and delivers the packages, notices etc. to Resident apartments
Provide caring, thoughtful and engaging service at all times
Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor
Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment

Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills
Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
Must be able to communicate effectively with Residents, Team Members and Visitors
When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years of security experience required
Must possess, or be able to obtain, all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles
Must have valid residence driver’s license and a clean driving record
Senior living experience preferred
