SCOPE:
Armed Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees and visitors against criminal activity. Armed Security Officers at this location will work on a team to control access at the entry/exit points of a
local military headquarters
and will serve as a point of contact to all visitors and patrons. This is a great opportunity to work on a team and serve a truly critical purpose!
Schedule
0640-1910 (1st shift 6:40 a.m. – 7:10 p.m.)
1840-0710 (3rd shift 6:40 p.m. – 7:10 a.m.)
Part-Time (24 – 36+ hours / week) with opportunities for overtime. Open availability 7 days a week preferred for this location.
Compensation
Rate of Pay: $21.00 per hour

Job Description/Responsibilities
Must provide exceptional customer service.
Guard posts at the entry / exit points of the local military base.
Conduct foot & vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities
Must follow site specific post guidelines.
Document daily activities and report all incidents.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Must have a current, valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
May NOT have any felony convictions, and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
Must have impeccable grooming (i.e. ability to adhere to our Appearance and Grooming policy).
Must present a friendly, positive, professional image.
Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. These include the ability to read and write the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.
