Armed Special Police Officers (SPO) – JFKC, Washington, DC
BTI Security is seeking experienced and licensed Armed Special Police Officers (SPO) to join our team. Candidates must hold an active Armed SPO license issued by the District of Columbia (DC), Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), or Security Officers Management Branch (SOMB).
Responsibilities include:
Access control and package screening (X-Ray Machine)
Personnel screening (Hand Wands / Magnetometers)
Traffic control and visitor processing
Vehicle inspection
Communications and dispatching
Patrol operations and emergency response
Maintaining proper uniform, equipment, and grooming standards
Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship
Minimum 1 year experience in law enforcement or security
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or AA/AS degree preferred
Current DC Armed SPO license
Pass suitability screening
Carry a current 9mm pistol with qualified card
Certified to carry Pepper Spray
CPR/First Aid certification
Excellent communication skills
Physical and Training Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks, including prolonged walking, standing, and emergency response
Complete required training, including weapons, X-ray, magnetometers, and emergency procedures
