Overview
The Loss Prevention Officer plays a crucial role in safeguarding the assets and integrity of our organization. This position involves monitoring and preventing theft, fraud, and other criminal activities within the premises. As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment for both employees and customers.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular surveillance of the premises using CCTV and other monitoring systems to identify suspicious activities.
Perform thorough investigations into incidents of theft or fraud, documenting findings accurately.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to report criminal activities.
Write detailed reports on incidents, including observations and actions taken during investigations.
Engage in conflict management to de-escalate potential theft situations or disturbances.
Train staff on loss prevention techniques and security measures to foster a culture of safety.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of loss prevention strategies and industry best practices.
Requirements
Proven experience in loss prevention or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with criminal investigation techniques and surveillance equipment.
Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Excellent report writing skills to document incidents clearly and concisely.
A background in law enforcement is advantageous but not mandatory.
Relevant certifications in loss prevention or security are a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
