Armed Vehicle Patrol Officer

The ideal candidate will be an experienced armed security professional with a proven record of solid attendance, handling “hands-on” environments and resolving conflict. It is helpful for the candidate to have experience serving in a law enforcement patrol officer or security supervisor capacity. The candidate will be required to be locally based in or close to our primary service area (Orlando FL). Relocating candidates will be considered, but there is no relocation package offered. We strive for a candidate who will minimize drama and politics as there is no place for these in our environment. The candidate will either work a Panama style schedule or a classic 3x 12 hour shifts (TBD).

The best candidates will:

Be a self starter and able to work independently, making sound business decisions.

Have experience as a trainer or FTO will also be an advantage.

Former military experience a plus.

Ability to be flexible and “think on your feet”.

An “out of the box mindset” can be an advantage.

Will be working in a diverse environment. Acceptance of gender, religious affiliations, sexual preferences, etc., are a must.

The candidate must also have “thick skin” and be tolerant of critique, sarcasm and an ever changing environment, which may be highly stressful at times.

A strong ability to navigate day-to-day, which often has moving targets and changing priorities but still complete functions in a timely manner.

An ability to “manage your bosses” is very helpful.

This role has the ability to lead to a Sergeant / Patrol Supervisor position for the candidate with the best fit.

Responsibilities include but subject to modification based on business needs:

Conducting vehicle and foot patrols of client property to ensure all property rules are enforced.

May conduct hotel evictions, handle domestic disputes, parking complaints.

May encounter guns, drugs, trafficking.

May encounter drug overdoses requiring narcan deployment and EMS Support

Patrol to assist with both compliance and client relations, field officers development with on-scene mitigation and interaction with law enforcement partners.

Back up to a static officer of an Orlando property

The Patrol Officer is expected to interface with law enforcement in an appropriate fashion but understands the role of a security officer and security’s function once law enforcement assumes command of the scene.

The Patrol Officer will be responsible for obtaining the appropriate FDACS licenses (D & G), basic first aid / AED. If the candidate does not have these certifications, Proteus will provide the training for these courses through the Proteus Training Institute DS3300039 (www.proteustraining.org). The candidate must have a valid Florida Drivers License with a clean driving record. The candidate must be willing to consent to a background and drug screen. The candidate will be required to sign a non-compete and non-disclosure agreement due to the nature of access to company sensitive information.
