Position Summary:
The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly position reporting to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The role involves maintaining and monitoring asset protection, security, compliance, and safety functions within a facility. The mission is to reduce shrink, ensure accurate inventory, maintain compliance, and create a safe environment for employees and customers. Responsibilities include report reviews, on-floor observation, and compliance monitoring.
Essential Functions:
Assist in training Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security.
Communicate directives and initiatives to store leadership and Outfitters.
Provide exceptional customer service, especially in suspicious situations, as this position requires interaction on the sales floor.
Identify root causes of shrink through data analysis and audits.
Review inventory adjustments and investigate discrepancies.
Promote asset protection programs among staff and vendors.
Ensure merchandise protection and physical security standards are maintained.
Monitor facility property for safety and security.
Conduct investigations into loss, criminal activity, policy violations, and workplace incidents.
Testify in court when necessary.
Gather information and conduct interviews as authorized.
Investigate firearm protocol compliance.
Maintain security systems and participate in safety programs.
Prepare detailed reports timely.
Obtain required certifications/licenses.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate or Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Security Management preferred.
Relevant certifications/licenses as per jurisdiction.
Experience in security, asset protection, safety, or retail inventory preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Experience with investigations and security systems (CCTV, EAS).
Ability to conduct quality reviews and audits.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
Travel &
Physical Requirements:
Travel less than 10% if requested.
Ability to perform computer work, walk, stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and occasionally sit.
Independent Judgment:
Work within company policies, analyze problems, and make recommendations affecting policies and procedures. Work independently with results reviewed by a supervisor.
