Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Security, this role involves coordinating all technical and managerial aspects of security operations across Father Joe’s Village properties. Acting as the primary point of contact for shift Supervisors, this position oversees their performance, operations, and departmental requirements. Additionally, it includes monitoring the daily performance of Security staff and managing requests with the Security department.
Essential Functions
Recruit, train, and evaluate employee performance. Manages any personnel matters (e.g., timekeeping, performance & behavioral issues) to the appropriate outcome under the direction of the Manager of Security.
Responsible for conducting and coordinating the onboarding, on-the-job training, of employees. This may include review of post orders, routine responsibilities, how to respond to emergency situations or site-specific needs.
Responsible maintaining and updating security related policies, procedures, post orders and carry out training to update staff on policy and procedure changes.
Oversees and reviews all reports, logs and pass downs generated by the Security Department and distributes all emergent and non-emergent communications to appropriate staff for follow-up as necessary.
Responds to emergency situations at various locations to include limited partnerships, retail locations, corporate location and the village campus. Carry out appropriate follow-up and notifies appropriate stakeholders.
Works collaboratively to provide support to limited partnerships and retail areas throughout the organization.
On time completion of assigned training and policies
Performs duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of security experience
At least 3 years of leadership experience to include training, performance management, counseling and retaining an engaged and accountable workforce.
Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certified
CA Guard Card certification
O.C. Pepper Spray permit
Baton permit
Intermediate user of MS Office.
Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possesses a valid California driver’s license; and has no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months.
