Operations Managers (OM) are Level 3 Uniformed Security Officers who oversee, schedule, and hold accountable 907 Tactical Security Group Armed and Unarmed Security Officers. AOM’s are trained in the use of non-lethal and lethal Use of Force depending on their security level and weapons certifications. AOM’s ensure that Security Guards/Officers are providing physical security as well as roving foot and/or vehicle patrols to regularly check Client property, and to deter and report crimes. Depending on the Client contract, AOM’s may lawfully assist officers and detain and arrest persons who commit crimes on Client property and work with local law enforcement in submitting reports and transferring custody of suspects who trespass or commit crimes while on Client property. AOM’s shall submit Daily SitReps, weekly Timesheets, and Incident Reports as necessary. AOM’s report to either the Regional Manager or Area Operations Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

Oversees static site officers and site supervisors for Anchorage area
Assists in scheduling shifts for officers
Resolves personnel conflicts and issues Performance Warnings and Reviews with approval from HR and Operations
May assist in hiring interviews with approval of HR and Operations
Conducts orientations with approval of HR and Operations
Submits daily SitReps and concerns to Regional Manager/Area Operations Manager
Directly oversees the following positions: Site Leads, Security Officers as necessary and/or with approval from Area Operations Manager
Implements and enforces security policies, protocols, and procedures
Assists with recruitment, training, and supervision of security officers and guards
Attends meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
Assists in planning and coordinating security operations for specific events
Coordinates staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
Reviews reports on incidents and breaches
Investigates and resolves issues as directed by Area Operations Manager
Creates reports for management on security status
Through meetings, discussions and directives, ensures the security staff understand the goals and objectives for each client location
May act as the Incident Inquiry Official, as directed by the Area Operations Manager, to conduct inquiries to establish the pertinent facts and circumstances surrounding incidents of security concern
Works extended hours and days when necessary to cover a shift
May give direction to a security team and oversee that the team meets its DAR and incident reporting requirements
Builds and maintains positive business partnerships through proper representation of our Agency while on duty
May coordinate departmental training with Regional Training Manager and Operations
Represents the organization as necessary at the local level
May assist with the completion of site audits of assignment instructions to ensure compliance with standards
Establishes and maintains training plans and conducts quarterly training of the Company staff in cooperation with Regional Training Manager and Operations
Maintains security standards and technologies according to Company policies
Collects and maintains security incident data for trend analysis and recommends corrective action
Leads realistic drills and exercises to gauge effectiveness of security operations
Assists in evaluating staffing levels in accordance with business demand, forecasts, and budgetary guidelines in cooperation with Operations Department
Assists in planning, development, and direction of staffing, supervision, training, and equitable treatment of all security Team Members
Responsible for ensuring accuracy, thoroughness, and completion of all investigations
Mentors and develops operational security staff
Submits weekly SitReps to Regional Manager and/or Area Operations Manager
Audits officer’s timekeeping to ensure shifts are covered as schedules
Audits officer’s reports to ensure they are accurate, complete, and thorough

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 21 years old
Clean background with no criminal convictions
Physical strength and fitness
Clean cut appearance and grooming standards required
Strict moral and ethical code of integrity and honesty
Minimum five-years prior experience as a Security Officer
Minimum one-year prior experience as a Supervisor
Attention to detail
Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
Ability to safely operate company and emergency vehicles
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work alone with limited supervision as well as to be a team player
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and to respect the Chain of Command
Ability to solve problems as they arise
Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations and to use De-escalation techniques
Good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
Ability to submit daily written reports
Outstanding surveillance and observation skills
Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense (training is also provided)
Trained in legal Use of Force (training is also provided)
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Good time-management skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to operate Microsoft Office products
Proven experience as security manager or similar position
Experience using relevant technology and equipment (i.e. TracTick, Silvertrac, Therms, etc.)
Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
Solid understanding of statistical data analysis
Working knowledge of MS Office
Committed and reliable
High school diploma – Further education in security administration or similar field will be an asset
Experience in Business Administration
Knowledge of general security practices
Knowledge of State and Federal Laws for security field
Crisis management skills
Must have a clean driving record and valid US Drivers License
Strong leadership skills and proven success
Ability to support and motivate a 24/7/365 operation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to represent to the highest level the organization to businesses and groups across/outside the organization
Ability to function under pressure and stressful emergency situations
Capability to maintain a high degree of proficiency when driving, utilizing security related skills and techniques
Experience protecting company classified and sensitive information with confidentiality

Ability to plan, prioritize, and schedule resources both in office and remotely
Management and supervision of 25 or more personnel

Proven ability working collaboratively to gain cooperation from the various parties involved in order to successfully pursue security objectives
Thorough knowledge and ability to use protective clothing or gear such as duty belts, defensive and offensive weapons systems, gloves, boots, masks, goggles, and other gear as necessary
Experience in one field of military/law enforcement/industrial security/investigation/government relations is required
