Job Purpose
The Head of Network and Security function oversees the Network & Security unit’s operations, including troubleshooting, configuring, deploying, and maintaining the corporate network infrastructure. This job function is critically needed to ensure IT day-to-day operations and projects/initiatives are managed, directly enabling Prasarana group staff to continuously carry out their computing-related tasks.
Key Accountabilities
Proactively collect and analyze performance data regularly.
Oversee the efficient service delivery of IT functions in the Network & Security unit.
Ensure corrective and preventive maintenance of network equipment in the deployed locations is carried out accordingly.
Escalate to Level-3 support when unable to resolve any Level-1 and Level-2 network-related issues.
Ensure that end users’ complaints and requests via the Central Support Services System (CSS) IT Ticketing system are dealt with appropriately and promptly to meet the Company’s desired service levels (SLA) in customers’ experience.
Prepare relevant reports such as network uptime for all locations related to the corporate network.
Ensure that assigned projects are delivered within time, scope, and quality.
Engage in training activities both within and outside the organization to actively share knowledge with other internal technical teams.
Ensure the team keeps track of all network asset movement with up-to-date asset tracking.
Manage inventory of network equipment.
Suggest and implement automated processes, services, technologies, mobility, and productivity improvements that can enhance business processes and deliverables.
Ensure team members are available for weekend standby rostering (on a scheduled basis).
Propose and prepare Management Papers and related documents for all IT network equipment asset replacements.
Ensure annual maintenance contracts for support, warranty, and maintenance are renewed in a timely manner.
Participate in ISMS and related internal and external audits for GDD.
Be willing to work 24/7 on standby and in emergency cases for network operation support.
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
Minimum Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
Networking certifications are an added advantage.
Minimum 7 years of working experience.
Functional Competencies
Monitor IT ServiceDesk tickets for the Network & Security team to ensure timely resolution.
Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Maintain good rapport and consistently provide timely service to users.
Have a good command of the English language to assist with SOP, reports, and MP drafting.
Provide guidance to the team during troubleshooting of network-related issues.
Technology Knowledge
Use enterprise applications such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Utilize MS Project, Primavera, or other project status monitoring related software.
Employ Putty or similar SSH and telnet clients.
Stay in touch with the latest networking technology.
