Position Summary
This is a working security supervisory position. Patrols the main college community and all college-owned properties and buildings to provide a visible presence to deter crime; responds to all emergencies and routine calls for services promptly and coordinates the police, fire, and/or medical response to same; Provides general safety information through daily briefings with Campus Police. Monitor and supervise campus special events and parking areas. Ability to be creative in developing solutions to complex problems and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to provide instruction on personal safety and security updates. Excellent communication skills with our campus and local community are required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

First-line supervisor for civilian security staff
Ensure shifts are adequately staffed and all security equipment is functional.
Ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to.
Assign duties to subordinate staff and provide relief according to policy.
Ability to comprehend and coordinate a response an initial emergency response until relieved by a superior or member of the Campus Police
Establish good communication and working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the campus community.
Must reasonably respond to disciplinary incidents while maintaining a complete record of events.
Ability to commit to an irregular schedule due to campus events and supervisor needs.
Perform the duties of a Security Officer

Education/ Experience
What you will need to be successful!
Must be 21+ years of age
Bachelor’s degree and security experience preferred
Associate’s degree and/or 5 years of applicable experience may be accepted.
Strong communication and writing skills
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license
Complete drug screen and background investigation
Must be available for on-call for athletics and other campus events
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
