Campus Safety Officer – Evenings
The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Campus Safety Officer – Evenings for the Lakewood Ranch Campus to join a thriving school that is committed to providing a relevant and student-centered learning experience.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Health & Safety, the Campus Safety Officer will be responsible for the following:
Provide safety and security services while on duty at the Uihlein campus in Lakewood Ranch. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm (Saturday hours may flex based upon need).
Provide occasional coverage of other shifts at other campuses.
Ensure a safe learning environment for the school’s students, educators, families, and visitors.
Support the Director of Health & Safety with campus/building security protocols – be a visible and accessible presence on campus.

Qualifications
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
High School degree required.
At least three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, public safety or the military. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
Current Florida “D” (Guard) License and “G” (Gun) License required. Weapons qualification under HR 218, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is preferred, but does not take the place of the required FL licensure.
Current CPR, First Aid and AED certification or ability to obtain before an offer of employment.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to write reports and routine correspondence.
Preferred NASRO basic School Resource Officer certification or equivalent.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a 12-month, full-time exempt position available July 2024. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience.
