* Must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
* As a CBSA guard, you will be responsible for monitoring people who have arrived at the airport who are experiencing immigration complications and cannot officially enter the country. Responsibilities:
Ensure the protection of people, assets, and property Escort people within the facility, using restraints to ensure the safety of everybody Demonstrate
empathy
and
compassion
and a
recognition
that you are working with individuals under stress Observe, monitor, and report on behaviour of detainees Conduct regular foot patrols – both indoor and outdoor facilities Monitor and properly utilize security software and equipment Generate daily incident reports Utilization of tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations This work requires vigilance, and efficiency, but also a talent for customer service and
compassion
as you will be working with people within a vulnerable situation.
Qualifications to become a CBSA Security Guard: A valid British Columbia security guard license A valid and current Basic First Aid is an asset Advanced Security Training (AST) is an asset Canadian citizenship or Permanent residence status (MUST HAVE RESIDED IN CANADA FOR PAST 5 YEARS) High School diploma / Proof of
education
Ability to pass a Public Works Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Check Available to work
