Location: Lexington, KY

We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to oversee Information Technology (IT) and Cyber Security operations. The CIO will play a pivotal role in managing IT resources, ensuring cyber resilience, and providing strategic leadership to support the DOE mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Provide senior leadership for IT, Cyber Security, and Document/Records Services.

Develop a strategic technical vision for effective technology utilization.

Ensure compliance with DOE and Prime Contractor plans and budgets.

IT Management:

Lead a team of 30+ staff responsible for help desk, system administration, and application development, procurement, training, IT portfolio operations and maintenance.

Oversee the operations, improvements, and compliance of network and communications infrastructures for users across multiple sites.

Oversee the operations, improvements, and compliance of the Shared Services Environment. This includes all public facing web applications, database systems, SharePoint, servers, backups/Disaster Recovery, and risk tracking.

Perform Asset Management in accordance with DOE Order 580.1.

Cyber Security:

Lead a cyber security team to implement and maintain a cyber security program, compliant with DOE Orders and Directives, such as DOE 205.1 C, and other applicable regulatory requirements, such as NIST requirements

Maintain an audit ready stance for the organization.

Understand DOE information classification and how to handle classified information and plan for secure systems.

Provide Cyber Security oversight support that enables assessing other contractor and subcontractor operated information systems across multiple sites.

Application Development:

Oversee Agile development of portfolio of custom software applications.

Maintain all required Authority to Operate (ATO)

Administer and maintain SharePoint and supporting modules

Qualifications:

B.S. in a technical degree.

25+ years of IT leadership across federal government, commercial, and educational sectors.

Proven team and budget management skills.

Strong cyber security and compliance knowledge.

DOE regulations understanding.

Experience in Agile application development.

Excellent communication skills.
