Job Summary
Utilizing and monitoring the organization’s advanced electronic security systems and auditing security procedures in order to provide protection services. Expert usage of Video Management Systems, Electronic Access Control Systems, and Intrusion Detection Systems. Initiating appropriate responses based on security guidelines and providing first point of contact assistance for alarms or emergency situations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Continually monitors video and other electronic security systems for all locations. This entails a high-degree of sustained vigilance and extraordinary attention-to-detail, often operating several pieces of equipment concurrently so as to expedite communication and response
Implements the required response to all incidents and in doing so ensures that those situations which present the possibility of injury, loss or damage are managed effectively
Receives incoming communications, obtains detailed information on reported problems, and fully records all information
Communicates clearly, concisely, and accurately both verbally and in written reports.
Identifies and assists in establishing preventative measures and protocols to enhance protection and efficiency
Coordinates the resolution of all incidents and follows through with the responsible parties to ensure proper outcomes
Documents all deficiencies and co-ordinates with the technical team to provide interim and long term solutions
Follows change and other management control processes, guidelines, and best practices
Provides accurate knowledge transfer among colleagues to ensure operational continuity
Exercises a high degree of tact and well developed interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues, corporate executives, contractors, alarm monitoring stations, emergency services, and regional, national and international offices
Uses excellent judgment in identifying risk and protecting confidential information
Possesses strong organizational and task management skills, able to prioritize own work, and execute decisions under tight time constraints
Requirements
University, College and/or certification in a related field are necessary. Technical computer training is an asset
Excellent communication (verbal and written English), computer, analytical, decision making and detailed logging skills as well the ability to use modern communication technology competently and clearly is essential
Additional language skills in: French, Japanese, Italian, Russian, German, Turkish or Mandarin are highly desirable
Experience with MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point is required
Most duties are performed in a seated position but may require regular movement to monitor and operate various systems
Required to work shifts on a rotating basis to include: days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Normal manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination, repetitive hand movement using a computer keyboard and mouse, acute hearing is essential
Works in a relatively isolated, strictly secure environment
