Primary Working Hours: M-F; 8-5; flexibility allowed with approval.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: OKC, Will Rogers Memorial Office Building
Telework Status: Post Training, flexible schedule in/out of office as determined by Department Supervisor.
Training: Required – Minimum 4-month period of in-the-office training

POSITION SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts and participates in unemployment insurance tax enforcement programs in OESC’s Employer Compliance Department within the Tax Division; this department is responsible for administering the state unemployment insurance tax collections efforts mandated by the U.S. Department of Labor in accordance with federal & state law, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Counsel appropriate stakeholders on the interpretation of and compliance with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission Act, Administrative Rules, and reporting procedures.
Balance the tax accounting system to ensure all monies and charges are correctly posted to the taxpayer’s account.
Conduct Tax Collection Department front-line work and front-line team work as needed with a wide variety of decision-making.
Maintain the required safety and security protocols associated with the above-mentioned responsibilities.
Position Essential Functions
Utilize excellent customer-service skills to provide the best results for the multiple activities involved in the Tax Collection Department work activities.
Code filed tax warrants for payment to the county clerks.
Call on debts over 5K, working the account to eliminate further debt by levy accounts, terminating closed businesses, establishing payment plans.
Take a high volume of calls after statements, collection letters, and issued tax warrants are mailed out.
Learn the accounting system on Glink.
Investigate and send determinations of interest and penalty waivers or denials to employers, along with the flow process. This includes appeal hearings and preparation for the appeal.
Clean the resolved determination files after required time frames.
Assist supervisor(s) as needed; process other duties as given pertaining to Tax Collections.
Follow the required OESC’s safety / security protocols.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
Work is typically performed in the office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to noise levels determined by the office environment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to talk, stand, bend, walk, and reach with hands and arms requiring periods of sitting or standing and daily use of computer and phone. It also requires the occasional use of the office machinery in accordance with safety and security protocols.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting business, public administration, auditing, or accounting experience for each year of the required bachelor’s degree.
Special Skills/Requirements/Preferences

Computer Skills – Employee must be capable of proficiently using OESC’s standard software (Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and Teams), and the Internet, as well as proficiency to learn other software as needed.
Employee must be capable of lifting, carrying, and moving objects of up to 25 pounds.
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
