Job Overview: Nice Yield is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Associate to join our team in Long Island City. As a Security Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment at our dispensary. The role will report to the Retail Store Manager and assist that person in in implementing security policies, conducting front door duties, and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Front Door Duties:
Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner at the front door.
Check IDs as required, ensuring compliance with age-restricted product regulations.
Assist with product intake.
Ensure front of the dispensary remains clear from excess crowding.
Security Measures Implementation:
Assist in implementing comprehensive security policies and procedures, as directed by the Retail Store Security Manager.
Support the maintenance of security equipment, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
Collaboration with Security Team:
Work collaboratively with the security team to maintain a safe shopping environment.
Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on the latest security procedures.
Incident Reporting Support:
Provide support in reporting security-related incidents promptly and accurately.
Assist in the documentation of incidents, ensuring detailed reports are provided to management.
Compliance Assistance:
Ensure compliance with state and local cannabis rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Stay informed about changes in security laws and regulations, following guidance from the Retail Store Security Manager.
Physical Requirements
Lift and move heavy objects
Work may required employee to bend, reach, and twist.
Stand for extended periods.
Qualifications:
2+ years in a retail security role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiarity with ID checking procedures and age-restricted product regulations.
Basic knowledge of security procedures and equipment.
Familiarity with state and local cannabis rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).
CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
Chinese language skills a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
$21/hour
6-12 hour shifts
Training and ongoing education in the cannabis industry.
