In this role, Armed Security Officers in Charge (ASOICs) can expect to work in demanding and fast-paced environments, including medical centers, government facilities, hospitality venues, and public events. ASOICs lead and support security officer teams, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and practices. They play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing site security operations while delivering high-end customer service. ASOICs may be required to work with a firearm and must ensure the protection of people, information, and property. They represent the front line of our security services and lead the way in caring for and supporting our employees. This role involves managing teams, schedules, and payroll, conducting training, and proactively engaging with guests and clients to solve problems effectively.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:

Deliver high-end customer service
Respond to emergencies
Deter and prevent crime
Perform ingress/egress control procedures
Investigate incidents
Complete daily logs and incident reports
Conduct regular walking or vehicle patrols
Build and maintain a professional rapport with clients, guests, and coworkers
De-escalate conflicts
Monitor CCTV cameras
Perform other related duties as assigned
Ensure team adherence to SOPs, policies, and practices
Update Client Relations Manager on best practices and SOP changes
Manage teams of PSOs
Manage schedules and approve payroll
Conduct on-the-job training

Skills / Qualifications:

ACT 235 (current)
21 years of age
Current and valid driver’s license
High school diploma or GED
One year of experience in armed security recommended
Must be able to pass Physical Agility Test and Armed Security Officer course
Must be able to pass drug screen
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient time management skills
Reliable transportation
Excellent de-escalation skills
Proficient firearms skills
Extensive use of force knowledge
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, urinalysis screening, and OPS training requirements

Appearance:

Maintain hair in a neat, clean, and combed professional appearance
Beards and mustaches must be clean and neatly trimmed
Fingernails shall not extend more than ¼ inch from the tip of the finger or interfere with the performance of duty or the safe drawing of issued equipment
Fingernail polish is allowed if it does not distract from the uniform

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Ability to work under stress/pressure
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to wear a uniform
Ability to pass Physical Agility Test (PAT) consisting of:
Run 100 meters in 66 seconds or less in Armed Security Officer designated uniform; followed by a 10 min break
Perform 30 push-ups (no time limit) followed by a 30 min break. If you rest during the push-ups, you must rest in the up position. Foam block will be in place for push-up stop point
Perform 26 sit-ups (no time limit). If you rest during the sit-ups, you must rest in the up position
Ability to use force, up to and including deadly force, when reasonably justified
