Duties
Special agents carry out assignments in investigations and protection, potentially at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad.
Responsibilities include:
Providing protection for various protectees.
Conducting criminal investigations related to financial obligations of the United States.
Planning and implementing security designs for National Special Security Events.

Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid driver’s license.
Carry and use a firearm; firearm proficiency is mandatory.
Be at least age 21 at application and less than age 37 at conditional offer, unless prior federal law enforcement service applies. Veterans’ preference applicants must receive a conditional offer before age 40.
Obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular; corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better.
Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear in specified ranges.
Submit to drug testing before appointment and randomly thereafter.
Complete 13 weeks of training at FLETC in Glynco, GA, and 18 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and overseas.
Register with the Selective Service System if required.
