Duties
During their careers, special agents carry out assignments in investigations and protection, often at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad.
Responsibilities include:
Providing protection for various protectees.
Conducting criminal investigations related to financial obligations of the United States.
Planning and implementing security for National Special Security Events.

Minimum Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid driver’s license.
Carry and use a firearm; maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory.
Be at least 21 years old at application and less than 37 at the time of a conditional job offer, unless prior federal law enforcement service applies. Applicants with veteran’s preference must receive a conditional offer before age 40 to continue.
Obtain and retain a Top Secret Clearance.
Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular; corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear across specified frequencies.
Submit to drug testing prior to appointment and during employment.
Complete 13 weeks of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, and 18 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
Sign a mobility agreement to accept assignments nationwide and overseas.
Register with the Selective Service System or be exempt, if applicable.
