Duties
During their careers, special agents carry out assignments in investigations and protection, often at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad.
Responsibilities include:
Providing protection for various protectees.
Conducting criminal investigations related to the financial obligations of the United States.
Planning and implementing security for National Special Security Events.

Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid driver’s license.
Carry and use a firearm; maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory.
Be at least 21 years old at application and less than 37 when receiving a conditional job offer, unless prior federal law enforcement service qualifies you for extended age limits. Applicants with veteran’s preference must receive a conditional offer before age 40 to continue.
Obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular, corrected to 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear across specified ranges.
Submit to pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing.
Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at FLETC in Glynco, GA, and 18 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
Willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the U.S. and overseas, as per a mobility agreement.
Certify registration with the Selective Service System or exemption if applicable.
