Job Overview:
The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst to join their team. This position will focus on security assessments, audits, and compliance with national and international security standards. The position will require both technical expertise and strong communication skills, as it will involve customer-facing responsibilities and collaboration with various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform IT security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with relevant national and international security standards (e.g., NIST, PCI, CJIS, CMS, ISO, SOX, HIPAA, HITECH).
Conduct security reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to assess and improve the organization’s security posture.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers to provide security recommendations and solutions.
Assist with maintaining documentation for compliance purposes and audit trails.
Required Skills & Experience:
6+ years of experience in IT security and auditing.
In-depth knowledge of national/international security standards including NIST, PCI, CJIS, CMS, ISO, SOX, HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory requirements.
Proven experience performing security assessments, audits, and reviews.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a customer-facing role.
