Requirements:
VA Institutional knowledge (preferably currently VA or has been with the agency within the last two years).
eMass experience.
Experience maintaining a risk register.
Experience conducting tabletop exercises for incident response plans.
Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, privacy threshold assessments, and privacy impact assessment experience.
Experience is active and not in a supporting or leadership position – i.e., actively conducting security operations.
Diagnose problems with VA/DOD systems to allow it to retain its Authority to Operate (ATO).
Conducting a security audit of technical and nontechnical threats and vulnerabilities, remediating findings, and providing all required technical documentation and mitigation plans.
Diagnose and update the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization Package for the government.
Provide Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) and provide access to Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) and the Department of Veteran Affairs to fulfil the ISO and ISSE roles in eMASS throughout the RMF pack updating.
Experience in performing Security Impact Assessment (SIA)
Evaluate and approve technical configurations, access permissions, and role-based access controls to safeguard cloud infrastructure and minimize risk exposure.
Review and evaluate cybersecurity exception requests, balancing business needs against potential security risks and identifying appropriate controls to safeguard information assets.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of new and existing services, technologies, and critical third-party vendors, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate security threats.
Communicate complex assessment findings clearly and authoritatively to business partners, effectively influencing risk mitigation strategies.
Review, assess, and retrofit all Annual System Assessment documentation, Business Continuity Plans and Recertification documents for Certification and Accreditation analysis and evaluation.
