As our Cybersecurity Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our information security efforts and gaining hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity. Every day we’ll rely on you to assist with threat analysis on security alerts and notifications, ensuring timely detection and escalation of potential security incidents. To thrive in this role, you should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What You’ll Do
Assist with threat analysis on all security alerts and notifications to determine the validity; if necessary escalate to cybersecurity analyst for determination if incident response is warranted
Provide support on incident response on threats to remediate threat vectors and minimize impact
Research new and existing technologies, recommend changes, provide research and support on vulnerability remediation
Assist with the design, configuration, and maintenance of the Company’s information security framework to include roles and responsibilities for information ownership, classification, and protection as well as data encryption, vulnerability management, IDS/IPS, logging and event correlation and security hardening
Audit information systems and the established information security framework and report any concerns to cybersecurity analyst
Assist in providing regular reporting metrics on the current state of the information security program to senior leadership
Support the Cybersecurity Awareness program
Related college coursework or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, SEC+, OSCP)
Proficient in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Cybersecurity Skills: Basic understanding of risk analysis, threat detection & analysis, vulnerability assessment, identity and access management, incident response, and CIS Controls
General Skills: Critical and analytical thinking, professional communication, attention to detail, positive attitude, willingness to assist in multiple projects
Optional Knowledge: Familiarity with Wireshark, Nessus, Checkpoint Harmony, Microsoft Entra, penetration testing, and NIST 800 Series is a plus
