Full-time (40 hours), Shift: Monday-Friday, first shift with some evening and weekend availability

Overview
The Director of Facilities and Public Safety is responsible for monitoring the security operations of the Sojourner Family Peace Center (FPC) facility as well as general oversight of the facility services. These duties include the implementation of security policies, regulations and rules to ensure that the environment is safe for employees, partners, visiting clients and shelter residents. This position will also be the primary contact for all facility related issues. They will work with our property management service team to plan, organize, supervise and follow up on all planned and unplanned maintenance tasks an activities. They will assist in quoting and procuring needed supplies.
This position will have overall responsibility for the in-house Public Safety Officer Staff providing security guard services on a 24 hour/7 day per week basis. In addition, this position manages the Front Desk Reception Area, In-house Custodial staff, and has general oversight over custodial and facility contracted staff provided by the property management group. The Director of Public Safety and Facilities is expected to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills and understand the building systems and layout.

What are the Job Responsibilities?
Public Safety
Develop Safety and Security Policies, including safety manuals and training materials to ensure that the employees are knowledgeable about the policies. This includes, but not limited to, Emergency Planning, Medical Emergencies, Hazards, Threats and Weather Emergencies.
Conduct regularly scheduled Emergency Response Trainings, such as fire drills, tornado drills, active shooter drills, etc.
Direct management oversight of the Public Safety Supervisor, reception staff, and custodial staff.
Ensure security guards are properly trained and supervised.
Perform hands-on surveillance and security practices during the Mon – Fri work week.
Develop budgets for security operations and monitor expenses.
Conduct quarterly Safety Committee Meetings, which includes representation from Sojourner as well as Partner Agencies.
Enhance relationships with multiple police jurisdictions inside/outside the FPC Facility.
Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events.
