About This RoleWe are seeking an experienced Director of IT and Security to lead our organization’s cybersecurity, data protection, and IT infrastructure strategies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards (SOC 1 and SOC 2), managing IT operations with oversight of Application Security for the Openforce SaaS solution. This role reports directly to the CTO/CISO.

Job Duties

Leadership

Develop and execute a comprehensive IT and security strategy that aligns with the business goals.

Oversee the implementation of security policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure the protection of the organization’s data and IT assets.

Mentor and develop staff, ensuring skill development in emerging technologies and security practices.

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure that all systems and practices are in line with legal, regulatory, and company policy requirements.

Lead company’s annual SOC 1 and SOC 2 audit process.

Conduct risk assessments and manage risk mitigation strategies to protect the organization from cyber threats.

Security Operations

Lead incident response, including investigation, documentation, and resolution of security breaches or vulnerabilities.

Manage and monitor security systems, including intrusion detection, firewalls, and network security.

IT Management

Direct all IT operations including hardware, software, network, and database systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Plan and manage IT projects, from conception through to implementation, ensuring they meet business needs and deadlines.

Vendor and Budget Management

Oversee relationships with vendors and service providers related to IT and security solutions.

Manage the IT and security budget, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.

Innovation and Technology Advancement

Stay abreast of latest technology developments in IT security, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure.

Drive the adoption of new technologies that enhance security and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management with at least 5 years in a senior security role.

Proven expertise in cybersecurity, including certifications like CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.

Strong understanding of business practices, risk management, and regulatory requirements.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.

Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex IT and security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Must be able to lift and carry 10+ pounds.
