Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Ensure the safety, security and loss control policies and procedures are compiled within the hotel
Provide direction and leadership to the HEAT (Hotel Emergency and Action Team) and if needed, calls for the evacuation of people and staff from areas affected by fire, flood, bomb threats or civil disturbance
Maintain visible image of management at all times
Act as a liaison within the community and policing forces to maintain awareness of current security issues
Complete daily Security reports
Lead property’s Health and Safety Committee
Direct response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical training and empowering team to use Crisis Committee Contact
Be knowledgeable in the use of all security equipment, i.e. radios, cameras, electronic lock systems and report any safety, security and/or fire hazards or violations
Supervise and train all Security Team
Perform lock audits as required and assist in maintaining key control
Manage the departmental budget
Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
Assist employees and guests and otherwise be present on the floor
Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
Follow all safety policies
Lead and audit Lost & Found, ensuring accurate logging and securing guest communication
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Previous leadership experience in a similar role required
Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
Certification in CPR First Aid required
University/College degree in a related discipline required
Must possess a professional presentation
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
