Director of Security – Full Time (Harrah’s Hoosier Park) Jobs in Anderson, IN at Caesars Entertainment

Under the leadership of the Casino General Manager, the Director of Security is responsible for the planning and execution of the Security area strategies and operations on both short and long range basis. The intended results of these strategies are to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests.

DIRECTLY SUPERVISES:

Manages two subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of over 100 employees in the Security Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Directs and manages the Security Department and personnel to protect the entire Gaming Operation and its assets.

· Acts as the primary conduit between Senior Management and the departments regarding security issues.

· Is available to anyone who has an issue regarding the safety, security and general well being of the casino operations, its employees and guests.

· Responsible for all training programs within the department.

· Develops, implements and evaluates maintenance policies and procedures.

· Participates in budget preparation and helps monitor departmental expenditures

· Oversees effective recruiting, hiring, training, recognition, evaluation, coaching and terminations as required.

· Reviews schedules to ensure that proper staffing is maintained.

· Responsible for overseeing the training of Security personnel concerning IGC and IHRC regulations and the Company’s internal control procedures.

· Formulates, implements, and enforces rules and regulations of the department.

· Hires and terminates security personnel.

· Reviews all accident/incident reports.

· Guest relations.

· Responsible for coordinating security efforts to properly safeguard assets in the casino and facilities.

· Responsible for all security policies and procedures as it applies to the accounting internal control procedures and federal, state, and local regulations.

· Review and perform employee evaluations.

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

RISK MANAGEMENT:

Will manage risk factors within the company department or division employed, in such a way as to eliminate company exposure to insurance claims and legal/court challenges. This includes but is not limited to adherence to Human Resource, safety and workers’ compensation policies and procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

Must be licensed by the Indiana Gaming Commission.

ACCESS TO CONFIDENTIAL/PROPRIETARY INFORMATION:

Requires access to patron information, investigative information, departmental payroll and personnel data, and internal controls for the Racing and Gaming facility.

ACCESS TO GAMING FLOOR:

Requires access to all areas of the gaming facility including secure areas.
