The US Consumer Operational Risk team is the First Line of Defense (FLoD) team with a mission to enable business growth and objectives while maintaining a strong control environment. The Operational Risk team acts as a Center of Excellence (CoE) within the business, and assists in the identification, measurement, monitoring, and management of Operational Risks related to the business products and processes. Operational risk is the risk to the current or projected business objectives and resilience arising from inadequate or failed internal processes or systems, human errors or misconduct, or adverse external events.

Job Requirements:

This role will lead first-line of defense operational risk management activities for all aspects of American Express Global Dining, Resy.

Resy is a go-to destination for restaurant discovery, exclusive access, original content, and chef-driven culinary events.

Key activities of the role will include:

Lead large-scale Operational Risk programs like New Product Risk Assessment, M&A Activities, Privacy programs, Risk & Controls Assessment, Corrective Action/Loss Event Resolution and Process Design, Risk ID/ Assessments, control design and implementation etc.

Implement the next generation of control testing and monitoring, Application Controls, Business Process Controls, ITGCs. In addition to Automated controls such as, key risk indicators.

Manage business process flows specifically focused on technology processes (e.g data management, flow, storage, etc.)

Maintain a strong working knowledge of ground breaking technology, industry trends and publications, and networking with professional advisors, experts and peers.

Identify trends, themes, tendencies that indicate emerging operational risks by analyzing data and trends in relevant metrics, loss event data and external events.
