Your Role

The Security Director is a dynamic leader responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and operational integrity of the organization. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on problem-solving to create a secure and welcoming environment for employees, customers, and stakeholders. The Security Director oversees physical and policy implementation, incident management, and compliance with applicable regulations while maintaining an exceptional standard of focus and operational efficiency with partnering stakeholders.

Role Accountabilities

Leadership and Team Management

Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing security team, fostering accountability and professional growth.
Establish clear goals and expectations, regularly reviewing team performance to ensure operational excellence.
Encourage collaboration and communication across departments to achieve security and organizational objectives.

Policy Development and Implementation

Partner with Regional Vice-President to design and implement security policies and protocols aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Regularly review and update policies to adapt to emerging threats and industry best practices.
Ensure consistent enforcement of policies across all operational areas.

Safety and Security Oversight

Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for the Western Region to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Ensure preparedness for emergencies, including the development of response plans and drills.

Problem-Solving and Crisis Management

In the absence of the Regional Vice-President, as a primary decision-maker during security incidents, resolving situations swiftly and effectively.
Implement contingency plans and coordinate resources to minimize disruptions during crises.
Assist the Regional Vice-President, provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders during emergencies.

Stakeholder and Environment Enhancement

Create a safe and welcoming environment that supports a positive experience for employees, stakeholders, and visitors.
Engage with other departments to align security measures with stakeholder initiatives.
Monitor and address concerns to maintain trust and confidence in the organization’s security department.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

Ensure compliance with all applicable security, and privacy regulations.
Maintain detailed documentation and reports for audits and regulatory reviews.
Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.

Communication and Coordination

Serve as a liaison between the organization, law enforcement, and other external entities.
Provide clear and concise communication to staff, leadership, and stakeholders on security matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security considerations into broader organizational goals.

Operational and Logistical Management

Assist in the management of security budgets, optimizing resource allocation without compromising employee, brand, or facility security.
Oversee scheduling, planning, and execution of daily security operations.
Monitor and analyze security metrics to identify trends and improve processes.

Requirements & Experience

10+ years of progressive managerial experience that focuses on managing team and operations, crisis management, risk analysis, threat assessments, and developing and enforcing policies and procedures as it pertains to security environments.
Bachelors Degree preferred
5+ years of budgeting and resource allocation
Proven record of multidisciplinary
5+ years of Business Administration experience
POST Certification
Physical Security Professional PSP- (ASIS Certification)
Excellent written and verbal skills
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $124,600.00 – $231,400.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
