Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Armed Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively in various situations. As an Armed Security Officer, you will be tasked with enforcing security protocols, monitoring premises, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Guaranteed hours are currently temporary for the month of March. Following the end of additional coverage the position will transition into an as needed basis.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, to identify potential security threats.
Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
Manage conflict situations effectively using conflict management techniques to ensure safety for all parties involved.
Provide first aid and CPR assistance as needed during emergencies.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to report incidents or provide information.
Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for record-keeping purposes.
Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft or damage to property.
Ensure compliance with all security policies and procedures while maintaining professionalism at all times.
Experience and Requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
At least 1 year previous experience in law enforcement and/or Security.
Familiarity with surveillance systems and monitoring equipment such as CCTV is a plus.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
Experience in conflict management and de-escalation techniques
Must be able to stand and patrol for prolonged periods of time.
Must have a FOID card.
Must have completed firearms training within a year of the hire date.
Own personal semi automatic firearm (9mm) is currently required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 40 per week
