We are seeking an experienced Security Guard Instructor to teach the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS)-approved 8-hour Pre-Assignment Training Course and 16-hour On-the-Job Training Course for security guards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security operations, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring future security professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct engaging and informative 8-hour Pre-Assignment and 16-hour On-the-Job Training courses following NYS DCJS guidelines.
Provide instruction on security procedures, ethics, emergency response, report writing, and conflict resolution.
Ensure compliance with all NYS security training regulations.
Administer exams, evaluate student performance, and provide constructive feedback.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends and security laws to maintain curriculum relevance.
Maintain accurate training records and submit reports as required.
Qualifications:
Must be a NYS DCJS-certified Security Guard Instructor.
Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or security preferred.
Strong knowledge of NYS security guard laws and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are a plus.
