Facility Security Guard (Part Time, Saturday/Sunday Night Shift, Ogden) Jobs in Ogden, UT at Utah Transit Authority

The Safety & Security Officer ensures there is a safe, protected, and secured environment throughout the business units and corresponding assigned locations by patrolling and monitoring corresponding premises. As needed, he/she will provide guidance and direction to staff, visitors,
and patients when arriving to the unit and during times of distress. During times of distress, will monitor incident operations and advise the Incident Commander (IC) or Unified Command on all matters relating to operational safety, including the environment, health and safety of personnel involved in the incident.

Essential Functions:

Safety Officer Role

Identifies actions to mitigate risks and hazards with the greatest potential for serious accidents or injuries.
Ensures the safety, welfare, and accountability of assigned incident personnel.
Exercises emergency authority to stop unsafe actions at any time.
Investigates or coordinates the investigation of accidents occurring within the incident area.
Conducts safety analyses and prepares reports on all incident facilities and locations as necessary.
Communicates safety issues or concerns to incident personnel at shift briefings.
Determines the need for subject matter experts or technical specialists to advise on or oversee unique safety issues, such as:
Confined space hazards
Hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
Infectious diseases
Assigns and oversees Assistant Safety Officers, technical specialists, and subject matter experts as necessary.
Receives assignments, notifications, reporting locations, reporting time, and travel instructions from HCD Leadership.
Ensures proper check-in at designated locations, including:
Incident Command Post
Base Camp
Staging Area
Division Leaders
Supports County’s EOC representative through the Incident Command Post Liaison Officer.
Maintains reliable radio communications at all times.
Ensures all communications align with ICS guidelines.
Keeps ICS/EOC Leadership informed at all times.
Procures necessary resources and supporting equipment via designated channels.
Conducts transitional briefings to incoming personnel during shift changes.
Completes required forms and operational documentation proactively.
Prioritizes operational continuity through documented channels, online communications, and in-person briefings.
Responds to incidents promptly with assigned designated equipment.
Deactivates from incident premises when properly relieved by the Incident Commander or Unified Commander.

Security Officer Role

Conducts scheduled and impromptu walk-throughs and security inspections throughout the premises.
Acts as a liaison between patients and medical staff, providing guidance and direction to patients and visitors.
Monitors surveillance camera systems.
Investigates, reports, and follows up on suspicious activity on the property.
Ensures only authorized personnel access restricted areas.
Leads efforts to de-escalate inappropriate behaviors.
Contacts law enforcement or fire department in cases of emergencies.
Capable of subduing unruly, aggressive, or Baker-acted patients as instructed by medical personnel.
Prepares objective reports on incidents and findings for management.
Escorts terminated staff and trespassers off the premises.
Maintains order in lobby and waiting areas to prevent injuries or accidents.
Takes proactive steps to ensure a safe and secure working environment for staff and visitors.
Responds to incidents as needed and liaises with law enforcement and first responders.
Interfaces with vendors, contractors, and suppliers performing work on the premises.
Receives, inspects, and distributes packages and letters, checking for signs of tampering.
Manages traffic flow in the parking lot and garages.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Identifies and responds to hazardous situations.

Communications Specialist Role

Receives all incoming radio and telephone inquiries and requests for assistance regarding patient transports.
Routes appropriate requests to transport staff based on guidelines.
Demonstrates a clear understanding of LifeTrans requirements and call-receiving procedures.
Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally with:
Callers
Transport teams
Requesting agencies
Hospital staff
Physicians
Public safety personnel
Activates transport teams and relays information about patient location and condition to the medical crew.
Initiates appropriate protocols regarding patient notifications and destination determinations.
Contacts physicians and medical facilities to provide updates on patient condition and estimated arrival time.
Accurately reports patient medical data as transmitted by medical personnel.
Maintains accurate records according to LifeTrans Policy and Procedure.
Operates all vendor applications as required.
Uses base station radios to conduct and coordinate radio communication professionally.
Provides communication support for mass casualty incidents, working with:
Ambulances
Law enforcement
Fire departments
Rescue groups
Hospitals and aircraft
Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Demonstrates knowledge of LifeTrans policies, procedures, and EMS protocols.
Determines latitude and longitude using:
Grid maps
Computerized mapping systems (e.g., DeLorme, SkyConnect, Google Earth)
Receives, documents, and coordinates all communication between:
The Communications Center
Ambulances
Receiving hospitals and physicians
Ensures compliance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations.
Builds a positive team spirit and respects the views of others.
Participates in:
Safety Stand Down Day
Survival Day (optional)
Vehicle Checkoffs with the LifeTrans team
Aeromedical Resource Management (AMRM) training with the AirLife team
Other mandatory training and competency exercises as required
Completes all required educational activities, including:
Moodle activity completion
Meeting minutes review
Attendance at Communication Specialist Meetings
Fulfillment of IAMTCS requirements
Encouraged to serve on an AirLife subcommittee and provide regular updates to the communications team after one year of service.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Communications Manager, Communications Supervisor, or Designee.

Education:

High School Diploma or a GED; Associates Degree preferred

Experience:

3+ years of experience as a Safety and/or Security Officer or Customer Service; Healthcare
experience preferred.

Licensure:

Valid Driver’s License required.
