Field Investigator, Asset Protection – eCrimes

The Field Investigator, Asset Protection – eCrimes is responsible for the investigation of high priority financial fraud and brand protection cases including organized retail crime, eFencing operations, workplace threats, eCommerce fraud, and critical incidents.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for conducting & supporting investigative activities related to Organized Retail Crime (ORC); gathers and analyzes intelligence on marketplaces and bad actors who are involved with ORC crime rings.
Conducts stationary, foot and mobile surveillance as necessary to develop case intelligence. Travels to markets assigned to perform job duties, as necessary.
Thoroughly documents information gathered during investigations to aid in successful prosecution of suspects.
Creates, maintains, and manages records using Company approved methods, proper retention of evidence and disposition of evidence. Upon successful completion of investigation, prepares professional case files and refers cases to law enforcement for prosecution. Attends hearings as required and updates appropriate files with court-related outcomes.
Maintains relationship with local, state and federal law enforcement as necessary, key retail partners, Organized Retail Crime Associations (ORCAs), and appropriate prosecution authorities.
Provides guidance and supports the Field Investigation team with field tactics and financial fraud trends.
Assists in the threat assessment and response process to protect our associates, customers, and the Company brand.
Works collaboratively with other Field Investigators, Store AP teams, District AP, Central Investigations, and Home Office AP on special projects
Consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including, but not limited to, product and service sales, customer service, productivity, travel, and attendance.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

5-7+ years related Asset Protection Investigation Experience, in eCommerce expertise; extensive OSINT skills required along with experience in dark web investigations
Systems knowledge: AP systems, CCTV, exception reporting; Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Thinks Critically, Produces Results, Takes Accountability, Works Collaboratively, Prioritizes Customers, Drives Improvement
Certified Organized Retail Crime Investigator (CORCI) or Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Certifications, a plus
High School or Equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
