Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Fire Chief to oversee all aspects of fire protection and emergency response services at a major refinery and port facility. The Fire Chief will be responsible for developing and implementing fire prevention, protection, and emergency response programs while ensuring full compliance with national and international standards.
Responsibilities
Manage and administer all firefighting operations, emergency response activities, and fire prevention programs.
Develop and implement goals, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives for the fire brigade.
Drive the implementation of fire protection projects and system upgrades.
Conduct technical reviews of new and existing fire protection equipment and systems.
Respond to all types of emergencies, including fires, toxic gas leaks, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents.
Command and coordinate activities during emergency incidents and drills.
Ensure technical specifications for firefighting equipment and vehicles are current and accurate.
Plan and conduct training programs for firefighting teams and emergency response personnel, including breathing apparatus training, fire leadership, prevention, and investigation.
Implement and oversee fire extinguisher training for all facility employees.
Conduct regular testing and maintenance of fire and rescue equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Participate in the investigation of fire incidents and contribute to safety committees and emergency planning initiatives.
Monitor and manage the firefighting budget and maintain high morale within the fire brigade.
Stay updated with advancements in firefighting technologies and best practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Sciences, Fire Management, or a related field.
Minimum 12 years of firefighting experience within the refining or petrochemical sector.
HCIS (High Commission for Industrial Security) approval required.
Must be less than 45 years of age.
Strong command of written and spoken English.
Physically fit and capable of performing demanding emergency response duties.
