New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.

The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.

This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.

As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.

Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND

Must be at least 18 years old; AND

Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License; AND

Must obtain and maintain a minimum security clearance of SECRET per NGR 5-1

ANGI 63-101 Chapter 36-10g; AND

The State of Florida Certificate of Compliance as a Firefighter (Not earlier than 1998); AND

Firefighter (AFSC 3E731/51):
Required Department of Defense (DoD) Certifications

Fire Fighter II

Airport Fire Fighter

HAZMAT Operations

Driver/Operator Pumper

ARFF & Tender

Completion of the DoD Fire Protection School

DoD SponsoredCareer DevelopmentCourses (CDC) or equivalent certification accredited by International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or national fire service accreditation

All DoD certifications must be attained within twelve months of employment, including completion of the DoD Fire Protection School, DoD sponsoredCareer DevelopmentCourses (CDC) or equivalent certifications accredited by International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or national fire service accreditation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Be in good physical condition as determined by an annual medical examination as prescribed.

Be a nonuser of tobacco or tobacco products for at least 1 year immediately preceding application, as evidenced by a sworn affidavit of the applicant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Emergency response:Respond to all emergencies as outlined by Departmental SOG/SOP’s and Mutual Aid / Reciprocal Agreements. Combat, control, and extinguish aircraft, structural, vehicle and wild land fires. Provide Haz-Mat responses and contingency responses (bomb threats, anti-hijacking, terrorist, etc.). Respond to weapons of mass destruction incidents. Aircraft emergency response. Engage in air crew extraction, passenger evacuation, and rescue. Performs aircraft arresting system rewind operations in a confined space.
