FPS Protective Security Officer Jobs in Columbus, IN at SIMMONS & ASSOCIATES, LLC

Simmons & Associates, LLC is hiring FPS Protective Security Officers to provide armed security services for the Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Services (FPS). FPS Credentials are necessary for candidates wishing to be considered for these positions.

US Citizen with a valid social security card
Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
Possess at least one of the following experience/ education criteria:
A minimum of two (2) years of security (armed) or law enforcement experience; or
A minimum of two (2) years of honorable service as a member of any U.S. Armed Forces Component.
Received a High School Diploma from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or as identified on a DD 214; or
Received a General Equivalency Diploma from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or as identified on a DD 214; or
A minimum of 60 credit hours, in a related field, from an accredited learning institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or
Successful completion of a federal/state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer’s standard training course that may result in a law enforcement appointment of commission
Must meet all medical and physical standards as outlined in the contract.
Meet background screening and U.S. Government suitability requirements.
Position may require the ability to acquire, and maintain, a security clearance.
Successful completion of Protective Security Officer Training and certification.
Pass and maintain medical, and physical fitness standards.

40 Hour Initial Weapons Training Exhibit
64 or 72 Hour Basic Training Exhibit
40 Hour Refresher Training Exhibit (if Basic Training is 3+ years old)
MEB baton / OC Spray
First Aid/ Adult and Child CPR/AED
NWDTP

Essential Functions

Control access to client facility through the admittance process. Assist visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility. Screen visitors and client employees in an efficient manner in order to expedite their admittance to the facility.
Monitors entrances and exits; prevents unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; operates a gate and examines vehicle contents; monitors remote entrances using closed circuit television; operates remote access devices; in a calm manner directs persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property.
Patrols assigned site on foot.
Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage; and provides direction or information to others.
Prepares logs or reports as required for post
Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for post, by the company, or through training or certification.
Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned post.
