Job description

This position reports directly to the Community Patrol shift supervisor and/or Assistant Operation Manager and takes direction from the Bonita Bay Community Patrol Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Community Patrol Manager and Bonita Bay management.

Community Patrol Officers will encounter residents, guests, vendors, and employees, on a day-to-day basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· Open availability

· Must have valid Florida driver’s license in good standing and maintain minimum driving standards as specified in BBCA insurance carrier requirements. The Community Patrol Manager must approve any restrictions.

· Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform all Job functions described with approved corrections and reasonable accommodations.

· Must be able to perform numerous physical tasks such as lifting, talking, hearing, walking, frequent standing and sitting for extended periods of time, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

· Must be able to operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.

· Must be able to read, write and speak the English language and visually recognize details, near and far and changes from the norm.

· Must have the ability to recall names, personal characteristics, and other details of Bonita Bay customers – internal and external.

· Must be able to regularly lift or move 20-pound objects and occasionally 45-pound objects.

· Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as assigned.

· Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic mathematics.

· Must have the ability to write original correspondence, logs and reports.

· Must have basic computer skills.

· Must have good interpersonal skills, the ability to interact effectively with various clientele, coworkers and diverse cultures, and be able to communicate effectively.

· Must be able to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.

· Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

· Must be willing and able to work inside and outside, in all associated weather conditions.

· Must be able to interpret oral and written English directions.

· Must wear appropriate attire and remain clean and neat in appearance.

Typical job functions include:

· Controlling access to Bonita Bay insuring that only authorized individuals are allowed onto the property.

· Screening and greeting residents and guests in a friendly and professional manner.

· Sending and receiving telephone calls.

· Performing basic computer functions.

· Handling difficult situations with composure.

· Investigating resident complaints or inquiries by gathering facts, communicating, and making decisions in line with the SOP and/or other Bonita Bay management direction.

· Driving Company owned motor vehicles.

· Giving directions and instructions to authorized visitors and residents.

· Completing logs, reports and other documents via handwriting and computers.

· Communicating via hand-held radios.

· Administering Bonita Bay resident canoe-loan program.

· Opening and securing gate houses and entrances as appropriate.

· Performing routine housekeeping duties at assigned gate houses.

· Performing CPR in emergencies.

· Providing 24-hour roving patrol through Bonita Bay neighborhoods.

· Investigating Intrusion/Fire Alarms and coordinating with Lee County authorities.

· Monitoring traffic violations and issuing written warnings, where practical and safe.

· Providing 24-hour surveillance of entrances, roadways, facilities and critical checkpoints.

· Checking and securing unlocked or open gates and doors after hours

· Performing duties as directed by the shift supervisor, Community Patrol Managers and Bonita Bay management.

· Promptly reporting significant customer service issues and incidents to the shift supervisor and/or Community Patrol Managers along with recommended corrective action and documentation.

· Maintaining professional manner, appropriate appearance and courtesy to residents, visitors and service personnel while on any BBCA property.
