Job Description:
We are looking for a responsible, dedicated and professional level 3 security officer for a school in Wylie ISD. The primary responsibility of the Armed Security Officer is to maintain a safe and secure environment for students and staff.
Work Location: In person
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Day shift
No nights
Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors on the premises
Maintain vigilant attention and patrol the property
Maintain a visible presence to deter unlawful actions
Respond to emergencies quickly and professionally, escalating to local law enforcement as necessary
Utilize security equipment and tools to maintain law and order
Conduct investigations and prepare incident reports
Assist with evacuations, lock-downs, and other emergency procedures
Provide first aid assistance as required
Coordinate with school administration, staff, and local law enforcement agencies
Comply with all legal and organizational regulations regarding armed security
Requirements:
MUST HAVE CURRENT LEVEL III COMMISSIONED SECURITY LICENSE IN HAND
Must pass criminal background check and drug screen
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Minimum of 21 years of age
Minimum 1 year of experience as a security officer, preferably in an educational environment
Trained and certified in CPR and First Aid, preferred
Able to make quick decisions in high-stress situations
Must be responsible and reliable
Must be physically fit and able to continually stand and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds at all times
Must work well, be polite, professional, and courteous with the customer and public
Must be able to read and adhere to written and oral instructions
Must have reliable transportation
Must have a professional appearance and demeanor
Must be able to fulfill attendance requirements, meaning being prepared and on time each shift
