Security Officer– Residential

Job Title:Residential Community Security Officer

Location:Bluffton, SC

Job Type:Full-Time

Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within a residential community. You will be the first point of contact for residents and visitors, ensuring their safety and providing assistance when needed. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and observational skills, be able to respond effectively to emergencies, and exhibit a high level of professionalism and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Access Control:Monitor and control access to the residential community by verifying credentials of residents, visitors, and service personnel. Issue visitor passes and maintain visitor logs.

2. Patrol and Surveillance:Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the community to deter and detect security threats, unauthorized activities, and safety hazards.

3. Emergency Response:Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, alarms, and emergencies. This includes contacting appropriate authorities, and ensuring the safety of residents and property.

4. Communication:Maintain clear and effective communication with residents, visitors, and fellow security personnel. Serve as a point of contact for security concerns and inquiries.

5. Documentation:Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities, including daily activity logs.

6. Customer Service:Provide excellent customer service by assisting residents with various needs, addressing concerns, and answering questions related to security and safety.

7. Equipment Maintenance:Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and communication devices.

8. Community Engagement:Foster positive relationships within the residential community by participating in community events, meetings, and serving as a visible and approachable security presence.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in security or law enforcement is a plus.

Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields is preferred.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.

Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and perform patrols for extended periods.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Proficiency with basic computer applications and security equipment.

Valid state security guard license or certifications (if required).
