ThreatDefence is a fast-growing Australian cybersecurity vendor, delivering best-in-class threat detection and response services to a global market. We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our security operations team and support both local and international customers. In this role, you will be part of the ThreatDefence team, ensuring seamless service delivery and uninterrupted cybersecurity operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for cybersecurity technology, excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, and a solid technical foundation.
Responsibilities
Responding to customer requests and managing service provisioning
Working with Linux environments, including installation, configuration, and testing
Ensuring system uptime through monitoring and incident response
Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues and performance problems
Maintaining technical system documentation
Working on innovative and engaging cybersecurity projects.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong passion for cybersecurity technology, with knowledge of OS and network security, modern security threats, and security data analysis
Hands-on technologist with working knowledge of Linux operating systems (essential)
Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python)
Understanding of IP network fundamentals (IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
Good grasp of cybersecurity principles, including access control, security protocols, vulnerability management
Strong technical ability to resolve incidents and problems
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience
1-2 years of relevant IT experience
OR hands-on experience from a home sysadmin lab (Linux, networking, scripting
