Security Installation Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Security Installation Technician with 5+ years of hands-on experience in physical security system installation. The ideal candidate will be skilled in installing, programming, testing, repairing, and servicing a wide variety of security systems, including card readers, maglocks, door strikes, and push-to-exit systems.
Candidates with knowledge of Brivo, Paxton, Axis, and Verkada will be strongly preferred. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure all installations meet federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and service access control systems, including card readers, maglocks, door strikes, and push-to-exit buttons.
Program, test, and troubleshoot security systems to ensure proper functionality.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
Commission new systems by demonstrating functionality, analyzing performance, and identifying malfunctions.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies.
Utilize troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment and software issues.
Provide technical support and training to customers to maximize satisfaction and system performance.
Assist with project execution including preparing submittals, training documentation, programming, and ongoing technical support.
Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate installation schedules, oversee subcontractors, and ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
Identify potential project risks and communicate issues proactively.
Recommend process improvements based on installation techniques, product performance, and customer feedback.
Perform other duties as needed to support the team and ensure successful project completion.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in security system installation and service.
Experience with Brivo, Paxton, Axis, and Verkada is a plus.
Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring, access control systems, and electronic security equipment.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine installation requirements.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and fix hardware/software issues.
Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift and carry a ladder and other tools as needed.
Must have reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
