Industrial Security Specialist – DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY Jobs in Hanscom AFB, MA at US Department of the Air Force – Agency Wide

Duties

This position supports the Enterprise IT and Cyber Infrastructure Division, PEO C3I&N Directorate (AFLCMC/HNI). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Branch Security Lead for the Secret and Below Releasable Environment (SABRE) program (AFLCMC/HNII). This position also supports the Enterprise IT & Data Transport (AFLCMC/HNI-DT) Lower Division as a technical expert for specialized information protection, and acquisition security programs, supporting major DoD, USAF, and other Federal Agencies, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) classified and highly sensitive defense acquisition programs.

Provides technical expertise in integrating all security disciplines into program security efforts to mitigate risks of compromise, unauthorized disclosure, or damage to weapon systems, program/system information, and its components
Examines security initiatives, protection measures and processes for horizontal application across platforms, systems, and organizational lines
Develops goals and processes that integrate security into the organization’s mission. Assesses and revises policies and procedures as needed to find ways to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency.

This position provides specialized multi-disciplinary including but not limited to: Acquisition Security, Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical Security, Operations Security, and Industrial Security. Acquisition Security includes but is not limited to, Program Protection Planning, Security Classification Guides, Risk Management, Security Contractual Requirements, and other security disciplines in support of USAF acquisition programs. This is not a remote or full-time telework position. Telework is limited to ad hoc/situational or regularly scheduled in coordination with the supervisor.
1. Plans, organizes, and directs the security activities of assigned programs at contractor and government locations ensuring that all elements of protection complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs throughout the program.
2. Administers the physical, information, industrial, personnel, and operations security programs as applied to assigned activities/systems.
3. Administers Program Protection Planning efforts. Identifies and validates mission security needs through evaluation or development of security elements of applicable program.
4. Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various Center organizations as well as government customers and contracted
organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with these organizations.

The employee is required to obtain and maintain security clearance commensurate with position sensitivity code.
Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
Random drug testing may be required depending upon the position being filled.
Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

Full/part-time employees occupying direct childcare positions are eligible for discounts IAW DAF AFSVC/CC Memo, 30 Sep 22; first child 100% / each additional child 25%. Other assigned CYP and FCC personnel are eligible for 25% discount.
The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours.
This position is designated national security position.
Recruitment, Relocation, and Student Loan Repayment incentives may be considered.
Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Standard for Administrative and Management Positions.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
1. Expert in program protection, system security, technology assessment and control, foreign military sales, information, industrial, personnel, and operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.

2. Expert ability in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the Center Commander.

3. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.

4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

5. Knowledge of government contractual practices and requirements for development and purchase of USAF acquisition programs and/or supporting programs/projects. Must be familiar with Defense Industrial Base security organization, operations, and management practices.
