As part of the Digital Transformation Journey, they are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and hands-on technical lead to build and lead the Security Operation Center (SOC).
Protecting the digital environment through timely cybersecurity incident monitoring & response, and escalation to prevent losses from cyber-attacks. ensuring it is well-run & adequately equipped to manage ever-changing cybersecurity threats.
Responsibilities
Lead, coordinate and execute strategies to establish and manage a Security Operations Center (SOC).
Supervise day-to-day IT security operations and SOC functions, actively monitoring emerging threats and advancements in security technologies, including managing vulnerabilities, conducting investigations, generating reports, and orchestrating incident responses.
Identify key metrics for security operations and implement necessary enhancements to fortify security protocols.
Provide managerial oversight for identifying, assessing, and responding to security breaches or incidents.
Develop and implement frameworks for the IT Security Operations Center, ensuring the effectiveness of policies, controls, and procedures.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to implement necessary changes aimed at enhancing security practices and operational efficiency.
Train and educate security personnel, technology teams, and external partners on SOC management protocols and procedures.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and accreditation standards impacting information security, offering recommendations for policy adjustments.
Supervise and take charge of intrusion detection and response efforts.
Monitor, maintain, and optimize SOC tools, collaborating with IT infrastructure counterparts and stakeholders to fine-tune existing network and security infrastructure.
Conduct research, perform proofs-of-concept (PoCs), and assess emerging technologies, maintaining current knowledge of the latest threats, vulnerabilities, mitigation strategies, and industry best practices.
Report on SOC Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), vulnerabilities, non-compliance issues, security exposures, and instances of information asset misuse.
Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT security.
Demonstrate a proven track record as a SOC lead, including experience in implementing and managing SOC operations in collaboration with international teams.
Have hands-on experience with security technologies such as NGFW, Endpoint Security, DLP, Proxy, Secure Email Gateway, Active Directory, IAM, Microsoft 365, etc.
Exhibit a general understanding of industry best practices in security hardening, OWASP, network security, security risk management frameworks, national cybersecurity standards, ISO 27001, etc.
Possess basic technical knowledge of IT network infrastructure, server platforms, and applications.
Have experience utilizing security tools, such as Vulnerability Assessment tools, SIEM, IPS, Log Management, and Penetration Testing Software.
Hold industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, and CISM (preferred).
