Information Security Officer – 9month contract – £400p.d. InsideIR35
A highly recognised High Education institution, based in London, are seeking an experienced Information Security Officer to join their security operations team on a 9-month contract (Outside IR35). This role will cover a broad range of duties, providing vital support to the greater organisations, as well as leading close knit teams, providing guideline and leadership to junior members.
The Role:
Develop an understanding of the threats, risks, vulnerabilities, and evolving attack vectors facing the wider company.
Respond to information security incidents and requests for security support.
Liaise with third-party SOC to manage and enhance monitoring, onboard new log sources, and investigate security incident.
Interpret network diagrams and traffic flows when reviewing network and TCP/IP topology.
Act as a technical lead, project lead and/or virtual team lead role within the group as assigned.
Assist in the development and implementation of team policies, procedures, and best practices.
Provide Information Security training within the Security Operations team and to other members of the Chief Information Security Office.
The Requirements:
Strong understanding of security operations.
Relevant qualification (GIAC, CISSP, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.
Detailed understanding of Security Infrastructure design and IT Security best practice.
Understanding of Cloud technologies and security controls.
Hands-on experience with SIEM solutions, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management platforms, and other security technologies.
Leadership experience; leading, coaching, mentoring
