We are currently adding to our team for a Information Security Specialist. This position will reside in Indianapolis, IN (this IS NOT a remote opportunity) and will be a hybrid position of onsite and remote work. The ideal candidate will be able to commute to headquarters which is located in Carmel Indiana.
Job Summary
The Information Security Specialist works closely with the Information Security Team Lead on the development and implementation of security solutions and processes across the organization. The Information Security Specialist will focus on event resolution, research, and implementation of related security solutions.
Essential Functions
Continuously monitoring active threats and ensuring organization systems are properly protected
Assist with auditing and compliance activities
Reviewing vulnerability management tools to ensure known vulnerabilities are properly mitigated and patched
Research new technologies, understand existing processes, and reference recognized standards and frameworks
Escalate issues as needed to other teams
Develop best practices for quick incident resolution
Assist in risk management activities that assure an acceptable level of risk for the organization/project
Assist in the implementation of required policies
Work with third parties providing penetration testing and other security assessments
Provides feedback on cybersecurity-related contractual agreements
Analyze internal source code and scan reports
Coordinate and assist other IT teams to ensure issues effecting organization’s overall security are addressed
Create documentation as needed

Strong drive, self-motivated, and detail oriented
An understanding of organizational mission, values and goals and consistent application of this knowledge
Ability to react to high-pressure, dynamic changing environments
Understanding of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities related to IT system architectures and design
Team player with positive attitude
Ability to deal with interruptions while maintaining progress toward completing tasks
Strong communication skills
Familiarity with log analysis, EDR and SIEM tools
Demonstrates a sense of urgency
Requirements
BS Degree in Computer Science/Computer Technology or equivalent experience
2 years plus of working experience within Security/Cyber Security
Great organizational and communication skills
Good presentation skills to management/executive management
Work within a team environment
