Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
The InfoSec Cybersecurity Analyst completes assigned tasks in the FedEx InfoSec environment to meet the overall project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop custom alerts to detect security incidents and anomalies.
Utilize Splunk’s search processing language (SPL) to query, analyze, and visualize data for alerting purposes.
Utilize advanced tooling to investigate potential cybersecurity threats.
Key Accountabilities
Develop alerts and fine-tune existing alerts to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.
Conduct regular reviews and updates of alert logic to align with evolving threats and attack vectors.
Dynamic workflow/project management utilizing Agile methodologies.
Document alerting processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and training purposes.
Communicate technical issues and resolutions to Client, the team and leadership.
Communicate effectively with FedEx cybersecurity teams in alignment with UMRFV leadership.
Attend team meetings.
Follow UMRFV guidelines and policies.
Skills And Knowledge
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Excellent technical skills and knowledge of computer systems.
Experience with Java, Python, and Linux Command Line.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
Currently enrolled college student.
Graduate student in STEM discipline preferred
Must have worked at UMRFV for 6 months in current venture (if internal applicant)
